IGT’s Megabucks® Hits for $10,636,897 at ARIA at CityCenter in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – April 24, 2011 – International Game Technology (IGT) announced that the Nevada Megabucks® jackpot hit at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for $10,636,897. This is the second Megabucks ® jackpot to hit at ARIA Resort & Casino this year. The first Megabucks® jackpot at ARIA was won in January 2011 when a lucky winner took home $12,769,933.

The Megabucks® winner, who wished to remain anonymous, won while visiting her "favorite Las Vegas casino." The new multimillionaire said she had stepped away from the winning machine to try her hand at poker, but decided to return to the lucky Megabucks® machine. When the winning symbols lined up, she thought she'd won $6,000 and, once she figured out it was the top award, she screamed with excitement. The new winner plans to use her jackpot to treat friends visiting Las Vegas with her to something nice.

IGT launched Megabucks® and the MegaJackpots® progressive product line in 1986, and has since produced dozens of major winners with jackpots ranging from just over $1 million (when one million dollars was the system's base jackpot) to the world record slot jackpot of more than $39 million, won in March 2003 at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
