Wheel of Fortune® Slots Spin Out Record Number of Winners

RENO, Nev., Sept. 26 -- From the Southwest's Native American casinos and the bright lights of Las Vegas to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, IGT's Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpot slots kept on spinning out winners over the weekend.

From Friday evening, Sept. 22, to Sunday night, Sept. 24, the popular IGT progressive slot machines produced eight MegaJackpots for a combined total that exceeded $6.5 million.

"Wheel of Fortune has always been extremely popular, but in the last few months, the game has accounted for the majority of our Nevada primary jackpots," said Ward Chilton, vice president of progressive systems for IGT. "Here in Nevada, we are averaging a Wheel of Fortune jackpot every five or six days, with total winnings approaching $40 million this year."

Over the Labor Day weekend in Las Vegas, Wheel of Fortune quarter machines produced two MegaJackpots within 20 minutes of each other.

During this latest winning spree, southern Nevada accounted for three Wheel of Fortune jackpots, while two were won in Atlantic City. The largest individual jackpot of $1.6 million was won at Foxwoods casino in Connecticut. Las Vegas and Atlantic City each had a million-dollar winner over the weekend.

The Wheel of Fortune slot is based upon the world's most popular game show and is available in quarter, 50-cent, dollar and $5 versions. The opportunity to spin the wheel for bonus winnings adds excitement to the game.

All IGT MegaJackpots are paid in annual installments upon verification, except The Addams Family(TM), ELVIS®, Party Time and Slotopoly, which are paid in their entirety upon verification.
