Wheel of Fortune®
Eighty-four lucky lottery winners were selected to attend the Wheel of Fortune Second Chance VIP trip to Los Angeles in March 2017. They represented the 15 state lotteries that participated in the Linked Promotion (Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia). The event was the culmination of a year-long instant ticket program led by IGT.
Each of the winners entered a second chance drawing where they entered their non-winning Wheel of Fortune instant tickets for a chance to win. The VIP trip for two included roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, luxury ground transportation, tickets to a Hollywood tour, tickets to a VIP tour of Sony Studios, and spending money. IGT’s staff welcomed the winners and their guests from the moment they arrived in LA, providing white-glove customer service throughout the duration of their stay.
Winners also received the ultimate Wheel of Fortune lover’s prize: the ability to spin the iconic Wheel of Fortune for a guaranteed cash prize, and the chance to be selected to participate as a contestant on a lottery players-only, non-broadcast version of the game show. IGT and Sony hosted four, lottery players-only, non-broadcast versions of Wheel of Fortune. 12 of the 84 winners were selected in a live drawing to be contestants. At the end of the day, IGT and the 15 lotteries awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes among the winners.
This turnkey Wheel of Fortune lottery promotion was supported by fully customizable Point of Sale, TV, Radio, digital, and social advertisements, as well as a second chance website and various play-for-fun games.
